Dear Parent / Guardian
We trust you are doing well. Since the return of the bulk of the grades as from Monday past you would have noted the measures we have put in place to combat the Covid-19 virus.
Please note the following:
- We will only be able to start the temperature checks as from 07h30 in the morning therefore you need to ensure that your child adheres to social distancing until this time.
- Please ensure that your child leaves the home with a mask and returns home with a mask that must be washed every day.
- DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK.
- Make sure you download our school app from the google store so that you can receive updated information and work for your child.
- ALL FORMAL ASSESSMENTS MUST TAKE PLACE AT SCHOOL UNDER SUPERVISION. THIS APPLIES EVEN IF YOU HAVE APPLIED TO DO HOMESCHOOLING DUE TO COMORBIDITIES. If you therefore receive a test/exam schedule you will have to send your child to school. We will try our utmost from our side to create a safe environment for your child to write the test/exam at that time. Your child will only be marked absent for formal assessments if your child has been granted permission to stay at home due to comorbidities.
- Please ensure that your child goes onto the Green Shoots Mathematics website on a daily basis to do the Brain Quest and other exercises. Your child must attempt the challenges until they get a 100% score.
- Work that you have collected since lockdown and which learners will be receiving will be the work used for formal assessments so please ensure that your child goes through this work regularly.
- During the week that your child is at home please put measures in place so that your child has a fixed work schedule / time table during which to work. Preferably from 08h00 till 14h00 with breaks in-between.
Discipline
- Please ensure that when coming to school that your child is properly dressed in uniform and that your child comes to school on time. To refresh your memory our dress code can be found on our website.
Also note that not wearing a mask and not adhering to the Covid 19 combatting rules is a serious violation that will result in immediate disciplinary action being taken.
Fundraising
- Please note that our school has not had any income from fundraising since March. We do however have monthly bills to pay as well as security Personnel etc.
- We have therefore restarted our R2 Drive. Please send whatever change you can on a daily basis.
- Next week Friday ie: 4 September 2020 we will be having a Civvies Day for Group 2 to celebrate Spring. There will also be internal class sales of any donations such as Cake, Chips, Sweets, etc.
- On Friday 11 September Group 1 Will have their Civvies Day. Please contribute what you can.
Donations
We wish to once again thank Mr Oliver, one of our parents who went out of his way to get our school a donation. We wish to encourage more parents to do likewise.
We really appreciate parents who think about their school and use opportunities they receive to assist where they can.
Yours Sincerely
M D Blaauw
Principal
